Four windows a day
Morning, midday, afternoon and evening each get their own Trail Score from 0 to 100 and a clear verdict: GO, MAYBE or NO. The best slot of the day is marked, but only if it is actually good.
Trail weather for mountain bikers
GripCast scores every part of the next five days for mountain biking. It reads the forecast and the soil moisture, so it knows when the trail is still wet from yesterday’s rain. If tomorrow looks good in your ride windows, it tells you at 7 p.m.
GripCastGood weather window tomorrow 06:00–10:00, but trails are still damp. 14°C, Trail Score 75.
How it works
Morning, midday, afternoon and evening each get their own Trail Score from 0 to 100 and a clear verdict: GO, MAYBE or NO. The best slot of the day is marked, but only if it is actually good.
Sunshine after a stormy night does not make a dry trail. GripCast combines soil moisture data with the rain of the past days and estimates, window by window, how much grip the ground has.
If a window carries thunderstorm risk, it is NO, however good the score looks. The other windows keep their own verdict, so a stormy afternoon does not cancel your morning ride.
The 7 p.m. alert
This is what GripCast is built for. You set when you can ride, separately for weekdays and weekends, and from which Trail Score a slot counts as good (70 by default). Every evening GripCast checks tomorrow against exactly those windows.

FAQ
It cannot see your trail, but it knows what fell on it. GripCast takes soil moisture data for your area and the rain of the past days, estimates how wet the ground is and how it develops during the day, and turns that into the traction part of the Trail Score. Rocky and sandy trails dry faster than clay or forest floor, so read it as an estimate for your region.
